Wee Challenge 19--Island

They had everything necessary for survival: water, food, shelter. They had each other, too. Huddled together, they told each other secrets and stories with words and deeds.

Days and nights blurred past, and still they continued to construct a new world--the only way to beat back horrible, futile reality.

The only thing they didn't discuss was how long they could possibly continue living in her bed before they had to return to the real world.

Great last line - I was hoping there'd be more to it and there was! Loved this one - neat and punchy.

This passage provokes a bit of envy in me, the warmth it exudes, anyway, considering I'm without heat. My oven is currently turned to 250 degrees. I think I might curl up in it and strike up a conversation with the charred remains of the pizza I torched last week ("Oh, Sweet Digiorno, deliver me from Winter!")
