Acts of a foolish heart
Distortion of the heart rules the mind
Leading it into temptation
Of the deepest kind,
And deep inside I know,
I’ll crumble,
So leave
Just go,
But when you do I still won’t be alone.
We are hostages of the heart,
To weak to escape,
To exhausted to see the end,
I just want to find true romance,
This is just infatuation,
A simple mirage of the mind,
It doesn’t mean anything at all,
Anything at all.
Promises left abandoned,
To be met with carelessness and greed,
Will it just be one more kiss?
One more autumn night?
The last petal has fallen on the floor,
He loves me,
He loves me not,
He loves me.
And I ask you will this stop?
The feeling of disappointment
Every time we break
It feels like I’m living in the pouring rain,
The colour is grey,
The distance is too blurry
Too blurry to carry on
I can’t carry on.
So yes
We tried hard
The taste of failure is bitter in the mouth
But that is better than a shattered heart
And even though saying these words breaks me
I am not strong enough to fail again,
So I will say again for the last time,
No more acts of a foolish heart.
