Eternally Yours
Today I think I understand
this concept of eternity,
I know now what it means
to close your eyes forever more,
but before I do, I'll cry my tears
and burn them with precision
because everyday without you
made my life an endless chore.
When every day of longing
brought an emptiness inside me
I would scrape my soul for laughter,
our love-making and a smile,
but could never find the spirit
to emerge again without you,
You were more then just a woman;
in your eyes I saw a child.
Now your heartbeat pumps in caverns
where I wrap you in my blanket
but I cannot feel your pulsing
as I shiver on the floor.
Oh Great Spirit heal my
suffering, shedding soul
please stop the bleeding
of the tears that burn
inside me, must I
ache forever more?.
