Wish

Man enlisted in a world of war

Another war going on with himself

A woman with a child and no one else

Realizing once union was dead and gone

Heading back to town where she was from

Small addition held closely in her arms

Racing back to be where she feels foreign

Deep in regret but away from harm

He would take it all back if he could today

Lately daughter and wife he can't distinguish

Wishing the past could be extinguished.

Left them behind one time to many

Bells ringing loud reminding him plenty

Bleeding for life the way it was meant

Lamenting how it could have been different

If you listen closely you can hear him say
