Beyond Walls
I want to be
somewhere,
where the picturesque view
is through my window,
out my front door,
and not a flattened image -
a reprint of a print of a photo someone took,
void of texture
sounds
smells.
The color skewed.
It should be a step away
a breath apart
from the walls that protect
from the shelter that reflects
the shell of me.
