Anniversary

Two years,
Almost to the day.
It's been
Two years and one day
Since I left you,
Your lies,
Your violence,
Your neverending
Apology cycle.

If my tears could be worn,
I would wear them
Like beads,
Millions of them,
All purple and pink
And blue and green.
At least then
They would serve
Some purpose.

In one way, I do....
I wear my tears
Like jewelry,
My heart like
A reconstructed medallion.

I painted my nails black.
Subconsciously,
I suppose I was mourning
Your idiocy.

I really enjoyed the first paragraph. It was a nice introduction, and it flowed well too.

The pain is evident and your words express that beautifully. Good job!
