Labrynth Riddles for Insomniacs

If you could kiss her weary eyes to ease them gently into sleep
Insuring that she never wake up crying out in fear or sadness
Would you take the chance to take the sorrow right out of her smile?
She deserves to shine but lately she's been fading into shadow

Sleepless nights find her lying with her eyes turned up to the ceiling
Swearing that she's not hiding from her nightmares, just waiting for the sunrise
But even when she turns her face away, so you may not see her tears, you know
You can almost taste the salt within them, as if you were kissing them away

Trace the outline of her face, illuminated in the moonlight
So that you may never forget how beautiful she looks staring out at the stars
Just waiting for the day to break, and when it does, instead of sleep
She turns to you and says she just wants to see the sunset

If you could kiss her weary eyes to ease them gently into sleep
Insuring that she never wake up crying out in fear or sadness
Would you take the chance to take the sorrow right out of her smile?
She deserves to shine but lately she's been fading into shadow

You'll sit and wait, just listening to her talk, the sweetness of her voice
It makes you sit on the edge of your seat, your heart beating to break your chest
The sky darkening with her setting sun, she says, "please, don't leave me."
Making excuses about her story not being done, but you know it's the darkness

She says to stay awake just a little longer, hoping for shooting stars but finding none
You're finding it hard not to take her hand, to kiss her palm and then her wrist
To tell her just how amazing she looks, how you'd give up anything just to hold her
She's talking about rainbows and rain clouds; you can't take your eyes off of her

If you could kiss her weary eyes to ease them gently into sleep
Insuring that she never wake up crying out in fear or sadness
Would you take the chance to take the sorrow right out of her smile?
She deserves to shine but lately she's been fading into shadow
