Island 7
Island 7
Reed stood his ground, his wits sharp. I will not die, reminding himself. The gate stopped, free of ice. He readied himself for what was hid behind the shadows.
Another roar sounded, louder much louder than before. His ears bended to the sound. Covering them, he whimpered. Another roar followed, then another. Would he even see this creature? Struggling, he was able to move his feet, no longer held in place. Running back, towards the back wall he looked behind him. A spike glistened off the blue lights then another spike followed. Stopping, he pulled himself to look. His eyes filled with tears, as if he had seen an angel. Two spikes rose in the air, rising up from a maidens shoulders. Her face hidden in shadow. Sliver eyes stared him down. Amidst the crowd a body cracked. Ice, flying in all directions. Then another. One by one the crowd faded into nothing. The maiden spoke her words scratching.
She moved out of the shadow.
It was Fern.
