The Rain

If the rain were to come,

would it wash us all away.

If the pain came

would we all run away.

Can't you see,

you all are fools.

You try to love

but you can only hate.

I have seen

Solomon's treasure.

I have been, where no man

can enter.

Can't you see, you won't

let him love you,

you've already hurt him,

but you keep on telling

him to enter your

palace just to push him

away.

Can you hear,

the rain is coming.

It's going to wash

us all away.

I have seen

the beauty she holds.

I can hear the flood waters

flowing.

All of my sorrow,

it cannot be taken,

I once heard

the good Lord speaking,

he said to me " Bless the poor

soul, who has to stand alone."

Is that me.

You've left my side.

Can't you see,

the tears that are coming.

I can see,

the rain is coming.

It's going to wash our

sorrow away.
