Moon
The sun, bright through the open window,
The moon, lonely in the night sky above,
The stars, glittering far above,
They look down on the lone child.
He doesn't know why he is alone,
Or what happened to his family,
Only two people know the full truth
About the death of Lord Zasshi.
A snake came back to the village,
A sorcerer named Anchernar,
He wanted power, dark and terrible,
And he wanted blood on his hands.
He came to kill the Zasshis,
Both old and new,
The jealous bastard wanted revenge,
As his eyes and tongue bit into flesh.
He first attacked the Zasshi's wife,
Making the village leader angry,
She was precious to him,
As were the very people that he led.
The Zasshi gave his life that night,
To drive away the cursed snake,
His wife also died near him,
As the people of Keshigoma began to cry.
A child was born not long before this,
He had been kept a secret,
Now it would stay that way,
For the only keeps would remain silent.
The village never knew of the secret
That the Zasshi and his wife had,
They buried their leader under the moon
As the babe began to cry.
