Borrowed Breath
With borrowed breath, I say to you;
I will return to you what is yours.
My soul from you was given,
My soul I must return.
A cry at birth we deliver.
Laughter fills our heartfelt years,
Tears are plenty in the seasons.
We only really have just one fear.
With mask of obtuse pretense,
We put on our changing face.
We manage to create a smile,
With dignity and with grace.
All the while inside I moarn,
For innocent spirits roam,
Fear fills my heart to flood,
Love will take hold soon.
With a last gasp of borrowed breath
I pledge to you my all,
My soul will only be set free,
When your arms catch my fall.
