Your empty wish

You want me to fill those dark places
Empty hollow shells of faces
You use me like a little pill
Take you away to where you can’t go of free will
Or can you?
Just pop open the bottle
Take as many as prescribed daily
Let them consume your every desire
Cloud your judgment, mind is hazy
A cheap rag doll
You wished you owned
A glistening new toy sewn with broken stitches
Eyes like fire in the desert
Hearts sire, a change in station
Placid rose on a pedestal
You can’t go back
But you wish…..
And you do still.
