I heard it before, but i understand now
My birth, nothing short of blessing and miracle…
To God, a familiar spirit, surrounded by a new physical.
Soon dedicated…
Then unanticipated…
I heard the call on my life,
and willfully gave it.
My God smiled on me…
Satan hated I made it
Safely, but he patiently waited.
With different things he baited
Eventually…I found happiness in sin…
Like my flesh were inebriated.
I returned to flesh for direction to fate…
Like a battered woman to her mate.
Beaten, visibly worn, dejected beyond belief.
Drawn as a dog to his vomit—a vulture to rotting meat…
Returning with fleshly restraint,
Conceding power in my refrain,
Misunderstood even in the synopses of my own brain…
Resolute to the minute point in vain…
If carnal actions remain.
i thought my mind by revelation changed,
My vocabulary reflects the same…
But time sheds light on what’s left.
Like a plum line over my heart found clefts…
Hidden from assuming eyes
By a facetious pride.
As in a civil war at a critical time…
Now is do season with my soul on the line…
Faith on the grind,
Emotions enemy to growth divine…
Love as an answer to bridge the Holy Divide.
To bring munitions from a feared ally.
My flesh fights from the Alamo,
Spirit on the move…
All associates witness the show…
Determined not to lose…
Destined for all bindings to be loosed…
And yet victory comes down to what i choose.
