Choice

It was easy to run away,
And convince myself
Not to tread on the road
That ends up in wilderness
The road I chose in the
Hope of sunshine was long and dull
But I knew was faithful
I walked miles and miles and there
Still laid miles ahead
I found water whenever I was thirsty
I found food whenever I was hungry
But neither the water quenched my thirst
And nor the food satisfied my hunger

It was easy to assure
And hide behind the veil of hope
Now again I stand at a forked road

There are rivers that can quench my thirst
There are fruits that can fulfill my appetite

But I am frightened..!!
Frightened of the unseen
Frightened of being lost
Frightened of loosing
The path I had before…

a good write. the protagonist of your poem has always been lucky. he finds everything he might have needed. but the way is yet to be done. until when? until he dies? he veils himself under the cloak of hope. he is patient, and thus finally reaches his destination. but he fears the unseen! he fears the death! wow your poems begins with a quest and ends with the same. he has not found the rivers. he is illusioned! good read.
