The Truth Is A Fire

one high flying spark of mine
sputters alive, flickering uncertainly
and lands in a gasoline spiked drink

a seeing flame illuminates the gray
into multi-colored window frames
heat images that glitter and stain

truth spreads these glowing embers
into the hungry mouths of dry trees
burning deceptions in flaming kerosene

the blaze so bright, it nearly bleeds
peeling away puckered pink wallpaper
blistering away the walls of conceit

away, our pretty paper world crumbles
fluttering silver fireflies of sooty dust
soon, they'll choke the breath from us
