Encounter

I had an encounter
with the Devil last night
He took me for a walk
Through my dreadful past
Reminding me of the wretchedness

I had an encounter
with the Devil last night
He gave me an apple
and told me
It would heal my wounds

I had an encounter
with the devil last night
He resembled a serpent
That slithered around my soul
And struck
Making sure I knew
God would never use me
...Sudden DEATH

I had an encounter
with myself last night
she told me she was scared
Scared to let go of the past.

I had an encounter
with myself last night
she looked half dead
being nibbled by the first maggots.
She showed me the wounds
From her encounter with the Devil
he had beaten her to the bone.

I had and encounter
with myself last night
she no longer resembled me.
I did not know her.
She told me of the path
she had taken that led to her
encounter with the Devil.

I had an encounter
with the devil last night
It was not encounter at all.
He lost this battle
to the sight of Christ in me.
