Maudlin Prosaic

I arise from dreams of thee,
Thy voice is in the raging wind
I hear thee from the waves of the sea
Like luscious leaves of the cypress tree.

I feel thee where the cascade flows
Where thoughts of thee serenely express
Thou standest where the sunbeam glows
Like a desolate charm of a brier rose.

O Love constantly scorching my heart
hath led me to thine comeliness & grace
With a tranquil beauty of thy innocent face
Beloved, like a winged seraph as though art!

My love mayest linger for eternity
Perhaps thy love hath now wrought
The piety of affection that abide thy breasts
And Lo, hath forgotten the love I brought.

My dearest, If thou wilt not remember
The felicity and bliss of our sweet surrender
I shalt kiss and embrace thee in an endless dream,
And dance with thee evermore under the moonlit stream.

Not sure where you were going with the rhymes. They seem to vary from stanza to stanza. Don't know if it's supposed to be consistent.

I was also skeptical of the archaic style, but you really pull it off surprisingly well. My favorite line is "Like luscious leaves of the cypress tree."

I love the imagery you evoke in this piece, it's really great. I have to admit I was kind of skeptical of the old english at first but you made it work.
