Bucket

Put me in the bucket
with the cold, cold water
bubbling up my nose.

Weigh my body down
with bricks and words.

Let my open eyes fill
with that inky whiteness
that seeps in after breath.

When my, our heart stills...
We'll sit, uneasy friends
at the murky waterside.

Both of us silent
the constant drip-drop
loud as 911 sirens.

So, you put me in.
Hold my body down;
Do what you want.

Put me in the bucket.
