Peek me

Jim Beam means
you love me
tonight.

Or at least
you bothered to
type it.

Knowing full well
that I am the right sort of idiot
to forgive.

You once saw fit
when sober
to say I was clever.

But only a dumbass
without willpower
would be grateful

for anything

like this.

I am not sober at the moment but still say your clever. I love the honesty in your poems. The straight forward nature of your writing is quite refreshing.

Hi,
I have to qualify myself here - I don't know a thing about poetry. But I liked this. I was able to feel the narrator's self-loathing, regret of self I think. And though there were no images really, I still carried a picture in my head.

Thanks -
