Telephone

She's heavy with child, smiles
when she catches me
thinking she walks like a goose.
She's chosen the emulsion: yellow.
Acorns on the curtains.
That stupid blue rabbit on the cot!

O two O seven
Two double two seven two
Double O…………………………………Hello?

I admire your ability to write imagery that seems to burn on my retinas. I could see you in a far away hotel picking up the phone, a pause to reflect on how she looks, then dialling... Hello?

Geese waddle, but the durned things are FAST and they pinch hard, too. Goosebites and goosebumps.

Terrific poem.
