Hang Over

...and I hugged the dark
on that cold morning of the
new year
my mind fading
as the night stars,
into the dawn of morning

Every time I find myself wandering to your page I am amazed to see the growth in your poetry since the first time I read your work. This poem is perfect in its simplicity and all too familiar. What a way to start the new year. Is there any better I wonder...

Beautifully expressed, Jay. Loved the imagery of the mind and the stars. Write some more.

Woah! Hang overs can be good? Good work, I liked how you said this in a few words.

Thanks.
