Blue Water Baptism

You always thought of yourself
And you wondered how we
Would affect you in the little
World you call life.
You talked of color to us,
Gray was non-existent,
Only black and white
Breathed life in your world.
You put us on a pedestal,
Making it big enough
To fit in your world.
You made us god-like
We could do no wrong.
We could make no mistakes.
The pool was no exception.
We had fun, yes,
Singing, dancing, and hanging out
As our teenage way of life
Played out. The warm breeze,
Inviting us to take a dip.
It was like a baptism where
I went in as a demi,
And I came out a goddess,
A parent-like figure.
Created to nurture and be perfect.
I was perfect on that pedestal,
The pedestal you created.
Yes, perfect, a perfect parent.
And yet, why is it that
You are allowed to be a child.

Every time I read this I have a different interpretation. I really like it and it reminds me of so many things/times/images/emotions. you have a lovely gentle relationship with words.
Should the last line end with a question mark?

Quite a challenge. Some people never grow up or strive for betterment. Is this to someone you know? Sounds like it. J

"The Puzzle Called Life"

by Kimberley Linstruth-Beckom

I learned through the writing of this book that there are many people and things that come your way while you go through your straight edges, corners, and funny-shaped pieces in life. This collection is about life, death, and how to cope.
