Today I am lost in my dreams
Dreams of yesterday and what might be,
But tonight I’ll wish you were right here with me
Laying beside me holding me tightly.
I can’t stop thinking about what we could have
And then the pain creeps in and I feel so sad
If only my dreams didn’t get in the way,
If only I could stay lost with you for one day

Why does life have to be so complicated
This is making me so frustrated
Some dreams only come once in a lifetime
So tell me which dream do I make mine
Tell me why, why does life have to be so complicated

I’ve wanted for so long to see my name in lights
I’ve wanted nothing else so I put up a fight
But then here you came along so unexpectedly
And now I find my self unsure of what I really need
I know I need you but I need this too

Why does life have to be so complicated
This is making me so frustrated
Some dreams only come once in a lifetime
So tell me which dream do I make mine
Tell me why, why does life have to be so complicated

Today I’ll hold tightly to both of my dreams
But I know soon I’ll have to choose
Which one means the most to me
