I need the rain

I look out my window and watch as the sun shines,
Why sun, do you chose to shine when I’m hurting inside,
Why can’t the world see the pain I’m going through
Why can’t it be raining to
I pray for the rain to fall I pray for it to hear my call
I step outside and look to the sky
Dear Lord hear my prayers, dear Lord I need you’re healing tears.
I need the rain just for today
I need the rain to wash this pain away I need the rain, so

Don’t tell the rain to go away don’t tell it to come back another day,
Let the teardrops fall, let the rain come, please hear my call,
So don’t tell the rain to go away, you can have sunshine any day,
But today I need the rain. Yeah, today I need the rain

One single drop falls from the sunny sky
One single drop to match the one that’s falling from my eye
The tears they begin to fall with each tear
The sky opens up and the rain begins to fall
The wind begins to whale and then suddenly from out of the blue
I can feel you I can feel you holding my hand
I know you aren’t there but I really don’t care
I close my eyes and continue to cry because you left me and I don’t know why
But today I need the rain, so

Don’t tell the rain to go away don’t tell it to come back another day,
Let the teardrops fall, let the rain come, it heard my call,
So don’t tell the rain to go away, you can have sunshine any day,
But today I need the rain. Yeah, today I need the rain

Don’t tell the rain to go away don’t tell it to come back another day,
Let the teardrops fall, let the rain come, it heard my call
So don’t tell the rain to go away, you can have sunshine any day,
But today I need the rain yeah today I need the rain.
Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain today I need the rain.
