Day To Day

It’s a hard road that I’ve begun
But I’m not the only one
Many people have come before me
They’ve all fallen on a bended knee
People say I’ve got what it takes
But I’m still living day to day

I’m living day to day
When will I find my way
I’m living day to day
And barely getting paid
My mind is filled with songs
I sing all night long
But I’m still living day to day
Come what may
I’m living day to day

I love what I do
That’s why I keep paying these dues
But there’s a thin line between right and wrong
I stand here on the stage all night long
And times are tough this day of age
That’s why I’m still living day to day

I’m living day to day
When will I find my way
I’m living day to day
And barely getting paid
My mind is filled with songs
I sing all night long
But I’m still living day to day
Come what may
I’m living day to day

I pray one day,
I’ll be standing on that Grand old Opry Stage
But for now
I’m living day to day
