unfair advantage wee story 22

I know you are fatigued. The river crossings have taken their toll, but your Waterloo is surly imminent.

Run for the hills, your life depends upon it. The hounds are gaining, horses are whinnying and antagonists are thirsting for your blood.

Why the lack of spectators?

Well foxhunting has lost its popularity, ever since the foxes have started hunting humans.

They have "coon" (raccoon) hunting in America-same cruel setup except the hunters have to shoot the coon out of a tree. Never liked either chase as it is quite cruel from my point of view. Now-I think coyotes should have a hunting sport-not the animal, the people who don't want the animal eating their pets. Now there would be a reason to hunt critters. Coyotes are protected near my home but pets aren't.

Nice set-up and twist at the end. Yes, if only the tables were turned, things would possibly be different. Not much for fox hunting myself; they aren't game and they aren't equitably armed.

Excellent story / lesson.

Crits:

A comma is needed after "Well";

"foxhunting" is two words;

I don't think you need a comma after "popularity";

Thank you for your comments. I picked fix hunting because for as long as I can remember I have always been horrified that such a practise exists and is even encouraged in some parts of the world. The thing that gets me most is the thought of a poor little fox being chased by not only a group of hunters but also horses and a pack of blood hounds, yet it is considered a sport. A fairly unfair one at that.

It’s a bit like a football team patting themselves on the back because they got 31 goals against an opposition of one person.

Pity they don't do that! I can't abide fox hunting. Great flash.

Good buildup, good reversal, good job.
