Speed Demon

“Bring the child,” they’d said.
“Yes, he’s a lovely doctor. He wears funny ties and socks,” they’d said.
We brought our child, wondering how we could tell the doctor all he needed to know.
As he wrote the script for Dexamphetamine, the doctor spoke only to me.
“Can you get him down off that window ledge? We’re two floors up.”

almost like poetry.
I love it. Lot's of meaning oozing out of a few words.
The medical fraternity/practitioners of healing can be oblique. I guess their craft requires a balance of both sides of the brain - technical proficiency and warm humanity.

What's the mother's fault/idiot savant challenge? Humour me. I'm obviously a bit slow!!

sadly i have been trying to write for the mothers fault/idiot savant challenge. a challenge obviously MADE for ME but just can't get the words organised.
not a clown i'm afraid. when we made appts with a doctor we hadn't met yet i would ask if they were nice /good with children etc etc and their reply was about their tie and sox...this happened more than twice! (we did see a few!!!)
dex/speed is commonly prescribed for people with attention deficit disorder, but in our case was not effective as my boy is not ADD

Wow! So much packed in to so few words!

'He wears funny ties and socks,' - is he a CLOWN? prescibing amphetaminergic drugs to an already overly energetic child?

Thought provoking read..
