Those days like dreams are gone
when I with horse and iron wares
slayed beasts and sheep
sacked closely guarded cities
and enslaved a million fragile hearts
which I swayed as my humour wished
like the ancient god of war
You charged at me
though with a blunt blade
and marked on my chest
one shallow scratch
Your spell like a cunning portion
worked mild on my senses
and fierce on my body
Still I'll be glad
to spend each new day
crawling about yuor love nest
still weak and blind
like a newly hatched

Oh, this is lovely language. The imagery and metaphor paints wonderful pictures. How can anyone with the command of such words have writer's block, ever?
I loved the transition from god of war to peaceful lover. The first verse, in particular, left an impression but the whole piece was very well written.
