The Morning We Met

The moment
we met
amidst the
golden glow
of morning
sunlight
it was as if
two worlds
collided
and God
or the Universe
had decided
for us
to meet

Could we call it
Destiny
Should we call it
Fate
this synchronistic
future-shaping
friendship
like a noble lion
calmy lying
for us
in wait

The morning
we met
there was
something
I instantly
recognized
in the smile
of your eyes
the song
of your voice,
almost as if
we had known
each other
somehow
somewhere
long ago
before

The noble lion bit is just lovely. Very happily-ever-after feel to it but it works.

You always write love so well. However I always note some doubt flickering quietly in the background. I am a firm believer in fate and perhaps it is so.... Nice work Gavin!

Love at first sight? It's a beautiful thing, and only a few ever get to experience it. This is lovely, Gavin.

One suggestion- 'calmy lying'- calmly?
