Missing You (Dedicated to my grandfather Jack D. Adkins)

Missing You

I remember the games we played,

I remember the wisdom you gave,

It was you who kept me from dark days,

You always put me in the right mental state,

Now when we talk I go to a graveside and pray,

Without you here I don’t think I could make it through another day,

It was you who was there,

When I was scared,

When I thought no one else cared,

Losing you was my biggest fear,

Only to you I would reveal my tears,

It may seem hard to hold on,

But I am trying to stay strong,

I know you’re in a better place,

I know I can’t see your face,

I know you’re smiling saying it will all be okay,

I’m just missing you.
