~ In The Minds Of Men ~

I remember the nights when we
felt need of neither
slumber nor dream.

You’d Vogue to dawn’s chorus,
and I’d be somewhere … travelling
into a stranger’s eyes.

Our hearts were older
than the years which fell
under our names,

and we never knew
that we were but boys … living
out youth in the minds of men.

Minds of men? Is there such a thing in this world? Amygdala perhaps, but sentient minds?
