If

if you know somone, are with someone
who becomes envious of your time
spent pouring over words,

Kill them
go to jail
perhaps for the rest of your life

but you will have the time and space
to write in peace
at last.

Well, it made me laugh, but seems a bit extreme as a solution to those who nag me when I'm busy. Don't think I ever thought of that remedy. Thanks for sharing.

Not to endorse homicide or anything, but there's a perverse logic to your reasoning, worrying so! Well phrased, witty and adroit.

I like your comment to your own story, Yedwelsh. I totally agree with you to distance oneself from people who keep you away from your vocation. Some people fail to realise that writing is as valid a profession as anything else. Most of us are volunteers in our profession, and therefore we need to get wages from another job. If a partner does not realise that, they are no good for you.

Thank you, and best wishes for your writing!

This made me laugh. I happen to agree though. The person you're with should be someone who loves everything about you. I just watched that new movie 'Juno' (I think that's the title), and as the dad of Juno said, something like, they should love you all the time, ugly or pretty, good mood, bad mood, no matter what you are doing, feeling, they still should think the sun shines out of your ass. Hahaha. Anyway, I like it! Oh, I forgot to mention the ', or are with someone' I would lose the comma or the 'or'. Thanks for posting.

This is written out of experience. I guess what i'm trying to say is if you're in a relationship with someone that tries to pull you away from writing, they are no good for your writing. Fifty years later what are people going to remember, the relationship or the writing?
