My Good-Bye Letter

I packed up all your things
All those broken lost memories
I thought I knew you
but I guess it wasn't true
I've lost all hope for you
I can't keep wishing for this to be real
So baby here it goes, this is how it is, exactly how I feel.
Broken,Torn,Buster,Tattered,Worn, helpless falling on the floor.
Oh how I wished for more
But I knew it wouldn't come true
Turns out you only care about you
So baby here it goes, this is how it is, exactly how I feel.
Broken,Torn,Buster,Tattered,Worn, helpless falling on the floor.
Pick me up, hold me high, I wish I could never cry.
I gave up, I gave in, I let you win
But now I'm stronger & I'll fight to the end.
Now this time baby I'm going to win.
You say better and I quote,
"Everything's better when wetter."
Baby this is my good-bye letter
I got hurt, busted, torn, tattered and worn.
They say time heals all, and now I'm getting up from my fall
I don't need you anymore my wonder wall,
so you can just go ahead and crash and fall.
Independent, Beautiful, and cute and all.
Yeah I love you, but this is where it ends.
Baby I'm about to show you where the new world begins.
I started with broken, tattered, busted, worn & torn, and this is how I end. Independant, gorgeous, pretty, cute, and most of all beautiful and smart.
You tore us apart, so guess what, you can' have my heart.

Your characterisation of the other in this poem leave me with a sense of antipathy towards him/her. This person's character comes across as vilely self-serving.
What makes me smile is the strength and independence that comes out in the last two lines. I love it. Non-contingent will, self-possessed self-mastery. Being a pawn is only OK if it is for God or for chessgames.
