Jealous Lover

Jealous of a love I had, then lost
This love we had, a line she crossed
A new man now enters into this story
Stealing all my thunder, taking away our glory.

I kick myself every night, can this now be true
Do you remember how it used to be? When I loved you!
You deny all relevance to the part
where he came into our lives and stole away your heart

These thoughts I now face, day in, day out
Did you ever think of me, were you ever in any doubt?
I guess this just isn't the case anymore
As you're screwing him now, on our marital floor.

It's hard to look back on the good years we had,
Thinking about what could have been is just too sad.
How long into our relationship did you feel this way?
I know you lied about your feelings for him, every single day.

Now your the happy one, with your whole life ahead
I'm just sitting here alone, in a cold empty room, upon my bed.
Thinking back about a love we had - the line you crossed!
Jealous of a love I had - a love now lost!

Very well done. Feelings I think almost anyone in a relationship has had at some time. I can definitely relate to the sense of helplessness, betrayal and loss when a lover or spouse has been unfaithful.

"Eighteenth Century Horror: Twentieth Century Fear"

by Dan Sheridan

Sheridanâ??s writing is wrenching, tortured and bleakly vivid. Sheridanâ??s poems dwell upon violence, death and the devil. He frequently places searingly modern issues and events within a traditional rhyme scheme. The poems in this book contain highly emotionally charged content...
