The Bitter Taste

*This is a song*

The bitter taste,
Of your tainted lips.
You took a chance,
Too good to miss.
Watching you,
The look you had,
That dickhead too,
It hurt me bad.

Don't, it hurts,
Relieve again and again,
Under a tide of misery,
Going to die, if you can't help me,
Soon.

I walk away,
Insurmountable pain.
Can't bear to look round,
And be hurt again.
A friendly word,
An ignorant reply,
A loving touch,
I wanna die.

Don't, it hurts,
Relieve again and again,
Under a tide of misery,
Going to die, if you can't help me,
Soon.

Stiil the bitter taste,
Lingers on,
Destroying my senses,
The popular con.
And still, the bitter taste,
Lingers fuckin' on,
Destroying my senses,
That fuckin' popular con.

oh well, who cares if they're incognito song lyrics? -- they work and that's what counts. and there's truth in there as well.

This has passion, not something easy to convey in words. You've got some good lyrics in there, a favourite of mine was "The popular con" simple but good. You should try your hand at poetry.

Ooh, is that a song lyric masquerading as a poem? I strongly suspect so! My university dissertation was on the argument of poetical merit in lyrical writing- this could be a bone of contention amongst SI writers!

Chris, basically, your poetry is far more accomplished that this, so I would stick to posting the poems and leave the lyrcis aside. Just my personal feelings, so feel free to ignore and discard!
