captive Heart

Trapped in my darkest hour
The room’s closing in
The wounds turning sour/
Sweet taste was but a venomous spray
To erase the joy and bring in the pain/
Am I blissful?
Shattered dreams
I have a fist full
Broken mirror
Can’t see the reflection
That’s what despair does/
Entered a world I cant fit into
I guess it isn’t mine
Like a case
I remained closed
Like ice
I remain froze
How did I end up here?
Too many questions
Not enough answers
Only reason for this disaster
Just too fragile
I remain with my back againts the wall
they wont take me alive
theres just to many issues this captive heart wont expose
thoughts of a pleasant past lightly brush my way
But i shoved them back down to where they will stay
and in my darkest hour i thought of you
thought of backtracking my dirt road lead to you
you said i needed help
I claimed to need you
you said let me go but my heart cant afford to be bruised
grabbed a few stamps and mailed my shame away because this heart no longer belongs to me
captive it will stay.
