Who?

I am who I was
Who I am
Who am I?
Are you who you are?
Who are you with her?
What shall I be when I remember who I was
And who shall you remember you are when you were you
And will she remember who she was
When she thinks of you and me?
Is forgetfulness the only merciful emotion
To tumble from the clouds like rain
And wash away all remnants
Of who I was
Of who you were
Of who she was
Of who we all were
When times were better
Or at least they seemed to be better?
Because all things passed are glazed over
In blissful forgetfulness
Except, of course, what should be remembered
But only selectively
So as not to confuse what has passed
And what will pass
And what is going on at this very moment

I thought this was really creative. All of the who's took a bit of slower and careful reading but I get it now and I enjoyed this very much.

the piece in general was lovely but I don’t really know if I understood the whole story or what was the main point.
The beginning part
“I am who I was
Who I am
Who am I?”
is a half of a verse I once read in a different piece, a lot of great poets think alike I guess!!
My favourite part was
“When she thinks of you and me?
Is forgetfulness the only merciful emotion
To tumble from the clouds like rain
And wash away all remnants”.
Great job, well done!!
