My Trip
My trip was frightening, at first,
From the fear, my heart wanted to burst,
I hopped on board and took my seat,
I didn’t know, I was in for a surprising treat,
I closed my eyes on the first flight,
So scared, I didn’t want the view in sight,
As I stepped onto the next plane,
The fears had left my brain,
Watching the shapes move across the distant ground,
My ears gave out, I couldn’t hear a sound,
The third flight, I watched it all,
Lifting into the sky, I knew I wouldn’t fall,
The images my eyes had seen,
I thought I’d only see in my dreams,
The clouds swept over the sky in waves,
In my mind the images were engraved,
Heavier clouds stood still in the night,
As lighter clouds swept over them in delight,
As the ride came close to an end,
The plane took its final bend,
The images I saw took my breath away,
As the clouds gave way,
What I saw before my eyes,
Made my stomach fill with butterflies,
Sprinkles of gold dust all around,
Showing the way to the ground,
As I sat there in a daze,
With the view I was amazed,
Then I stepped off of the plane,
My body was tired and totally drained,
Nothing to loose only to gain
With one glance, a single stare,
I saw him standing there,
My heart, I lost in one glance,
His smile sent me into a trance,
His eyes made my heart melt,
His touch was gentle and heartfelt,
He flew me to paradise,
And my trip was nice.
