Ten (something)
Ten years later it still feels the same.
A selected jukebox song
Brings back a flood of situation and pain -
To a strangely necessary wrong.
Musical notes are slow dying,
Lyrical expressions like pancakeswithhoney.
I remember the bar where we were lying -
A gorgeous time/guy and his unavailability.
We made out in the bar and in the car.
“I know some day you’ll have a beautiful life.”
Remembering is too close and too far,
And there is too much swearing to christ.
Just re-record it all, goddamnit!
Make it seem like a journey that was lame
Or pretend a mystical alignment with planets
But, ten years later it still feels the same?
