Living Upstairs

Would you ever have come around for dinner, if you didn't live upstairs
I see the way you look at me, the way you smile and touch your hair.
Would you ever have chatted to me, more than just "hey how was your weekend"
I can't stop thinking about you now, I'd like to be your special friend.

Would you ever have come around that night for bowling on the wii.
Staying longer than the average banter hour, making time for a second cup of tea!
Would you ever have sent me all of those flirty facebook messages & texts
I'm glued to the edge of my seat now - wondering what could be next!

Would you still have listened to me go on about how I miss my dad?
You showed your softer side, with a tear in your eye, I hope you were not too sad.
Would you still have wanted to join me at all those places I mentioned
Did you just feel I needed to be with someone, and you could give me that attention.

Would you have even noticed me at work, if we were never introduced
Even though I had always wondered who you were, and now by your personality... I am seduced!

I loved the sincerity and thoughtfulness of this piece, the questioning, the yearning. I really enjoyed this piece. Well done.
