Under

I open the door and walk inside
Take off the evidence of today
Wash away the face that cried
Feel my heart, much to my dismay

Lay down next to the fire
Hoping I will warm, I keep close
So sick of this enchanted desire
Ill from taking the dose

I hear the seconds falling from the clock
Breaking as they hit the ground
Their fragments crawling towards me to mock
While I lay still, without a sound

The rain begins its violent pour
And the flames emit nothing but dance
Tasting, as they freeze me to the core
The waste of a beautiful chance

The thought of you there, numbing my soul
My eyes shut, blind to the memory
All of your promises thrown in a hole
Waiting patiently for the remains of me
