Abandon

I do not see the sun
I do not see the moon
My vision's disappearance has begun
It will all fade away soon

There is no fragrance in the air
Flowers are dead to me
It's gone. This is not fair
I no longer smell the sea

Hunger has made a home here
My mouth knows not the bite of bread
Nor do I taste your lips that were so near
Not to eat, I care not. Not to kiss you, that I do dread

The birds have no song
All the world's melody has become silent
I cannot hear you voice. I pray it won't be long
For the whispers in my mind have become violent

Snow became rain
The falling leaves, around me, flew
I lost my skin. I feel no pain
I don't even feel the world and will never touch you.

No sight, no touch, no taste, smell or sound.
Their mission is over. I have entered the ground.
