Wasted breath

To have breathed
and only wasted-
Words carried false
on living breath
Devastate her living heart.

Now heart stilled,
and breathless truth revealed.
Quieted pulse
And mind open'd to thought.
No chattering of flattery
In worthless breath'd words.

Sweet memory harbored
in cooled veins.
Unspoken and unbreathed words circle,
carrying farther than shouted epithets
wounding from lie to lips to soul.
