You Told Me

Dedicated to John Robert Story
Written on 04/24/03 at 2:34 am

You told me
I was in the way
I am worthless, useless
You told me
to go away; you don't want me here
You told me
you didn't have time to talk about our problems
You told me
that you were too busy for spending time with me
You hurt me
when you said those words; making me shrink
You hurt me
when you pushed me away; forever alone
You hurt me
when you made me feel ugly, and I wanted to die
You hurt me
When you let me walk away; no apologies or hugs to soothe my pain
You killed me
when you let me see our love die
You killed me
when you left me again; returning to inflict more pain
You killed me
when you came back and did it again
You killed me
when you did not help ease my pain.
