To my friends

I opened the L.A. Times today and I saw two images that I never thought possible. I saw a woman hugging her daughter on a stage with confetti flying and people cheering, I saw an African American man standing next to his wife waving to a crowd full of supporters. Tears come to my eyes; my chest tightens, I become overwhelmed by theses images. I have heard people say that Hillary doesn’t inspire them and that Borack speaks with more heart. I see them as two different individuals with different strengths but both inspiring just the same. It is not in the way they speak or the issues they stand for, it is about their accomplishments as the minority, as the people who had to fight to vote, it is about the human spirit and its’ ability to overcome and achieve in the most diverse, unfavorable circumstances. It is about the growth, as individuals and as a nation. My heart is for Hillary and maybe she speaks to me of my challenges as a strong woman working to be recognized, but no matter the winner, my heart is full of hope and joy for were we have come as a nation and inspired by what we can all achieve as individuals if we believe enough in ourselves.

I completely agree, it's great to see, and as you say, something that never seemed possible. I don't live in America, but I hope this is the start of better things for the future.
