How Much Do You Care?

We all have opinions
“Beliefs”

We hold onto them
We argue over them
We protect them and our identities
when threatened

But how much do you really care?
Whether your opinion is 'right' or not
Whether it's as accurate as it can possibly be...

Or is it enough just to have one...
For the sake of having one...
One that's 'yours'...
An expression of you...
and who you are at the moment?

How much do you really care about your opinion?

Do you care enough to...
Do the research needed to back it up?
Go through experience after experience to test its accuracy?
Devote years to perfecting it?
Test and retest it on yourself?

Do you care enough to...
Stake your life on it?
Stake your soul's evolution on it?

How about someone else's life and soul?
Are you willing to stake that?

Do you realize..

Those who Teach...
Are putting your life and soul on the line...

Every time...

Do they realize...

They are putting their own life and soul
On the line 'karmically' as well?

Excellent.

How many of us are brave enough to take the responsibilities of our actions and not feel ashamed of it a bit? How many of us actually are aware of this fact that our actions, our choices and our decisions are the product of our values and not mere the lack of options. How many of us have the guts to not accept the things which do not conform to my values and morals?

Write more of these not for fancy language but for conveying some message to this Mad world.

Thanks once again.A salute to you George.

George,

I think this is a great poem. I can certainly say I've thought about this many times. I can tell our minds are on a similar wavelength. Now I just need to learn to express myself the way you are able to. Keep up the great writing! :)

hiya George..

//in other work that ive read, youve sort of buried the message, one had to dig for it. this comes of preachy. btuse.
im not complaining though.. its just different from the other stuff. louder.

Do you realize..

Those who Teach...
Are putting your life and soul on the line...

Every time...

Do they realize...

They are putting their own life and soul
On the line ('karmically') as well?

//i like the above..
no need for the apostros there though.
thanks,
T
