Taking A Chance, Hoping to Grow

Up until this evening I only uploaded stories that I considered to be "finished." Tonight, though, I uploaded the first two parts of a story in draft stage (Wake Up, Sleepy Head). I've found the collaborative aspect of writing to be extremely fruitful. I got stumped with this piece, which represents a writing round-robin with my friend, Rosie (also known as Della, for those of you familiar with my stories). I started the story, then Rosie took it up and led it in a direction I didn't quite know what to do with. A few readers here made some suggestions, including pushing the protagonist's comfort zone to resolve - or at least face - that conflict.

I'm hoping I'm on the road to achieving that balance. The Maggie-Della short stories tend to be humorous, so I tried to keep humor as well as tension on the same guy-wire.

Please let me know what you think of it so far. It's still a draft and a bit rough and long in parts, but I'd like to get some first impressions at least!
