Anthem of Youth
Through her graceful arch,
History beckoned with a tempting hand,
Enamoured,
Forever in rapture,
There I could stand.
But no,
The way is forward,
The path, Set,
The future beckons,
And into my hands
And that of a billion hearts,
The baton passed.
Laugh, but in unbridled joy,
Mock, you dare not.
The wind blows,
Trumpeting change,
Herald of a generation.
