Have you ever touched the sun?
Do you remember being born?
What was it like?
Did it feel warm?
Have you ever been in love?
Have you ever been loved?
Was it true,
or did you think it was invented?
Have you ever crushed a heart
to find you did not intend it?

Have you ever died?
Have you ever cried
from deep frustration?

I'm sick of this mask,
this isn't who I am.
I am a man,
is this why I'm damned?

This is not my life
and these are not my days.
This moment of doubt
is only a phase.
This little cry
is just another lullaby;
another chance at romance
with the finer side of my soul.

That is not my reflection.
I'm not a bad man.
Aren't I?

Singing tales and nursing rhymes,
I never thought it could be this fine.
So far from remorse,
I could almost smile.

It's good when you're near me,
makes me feel right.

Fuck it,
let's get drunk tonight.
