Forever

When I first looked in your eyes
I felt very much alive
You made me feel so warm and fuzzy
Deep down inside

When you told me that you loved me
My heart began to skip
I’ve never felt so happy
Since that moment when we kissed

Later when we married
I gave my soul to you
We even had two children
Who both were named by you

Many years had past
We both grew old with age
Our love stayed young and vibrant
And never missed a day

One morning we awoke
And climbed up out of bed
We saw a brilliant sight
Shining up ahead

We embraced the warmth it gave
And hugged each other tight
Our souls began to drift
Up towards the heaven lights

At this moment we both knew
How strong our love had grown
To know that when one died
The other would not be left alone

Gentle warm sentiments--very nice, and it sort of, tries to rhyme. That's the only place where the piece stumbles a bit. Rhyming poetry is truly an art, and it should be engaged in carefully. :-)
